Kallax insert pack with 4 12x12 Storage Boxes — frequently asked questions
What is included in the Kallax insert pack with 4 12x12 Storage Boxes?
The pack contains 4 clear 12x12 Storage Boxes and a pair of Kallax shelving inserts. The inserts are 3D printed in black PETG, and the boxes are injection moulded in PP5 polypropylene.
Will 12x12 scrapbook paper fit in the boxes?
Yes. Each box measures 310 x 335 x 25mm internally, so standard 12x12 inch scrapbook paper and card lie flat. The box is slightly rectangular rather than perfectly square, which leaves room for margin strips and offcuts alongside your full sheets.
Are the Kallax inserts freestanding?
No. The inserts only work when fixed inside an IKEA Kallax cubicle, where they hold each of the 4 boxes on its own shelf. They won't stand up on their own. We make freestanding Box Staks for our A4, A5 and Pen & Pencil boxes, but there is no Stak for the 12x12 box. If you want 12x12 boxes on individual slide-out shelves, you'll need a Kallax and these inserts.
Do the boxes come with handles?
No, and they don't need them. The inserts leave a finger-sized gap between each shelf, so every box is easy to grip and slide out of the Kallax. If you already have 12x12 Storage Boxes, the Kallax inserts are also available on their own without boxes.
What can I store in the boxes?
The 12x12 boxes are made for scrapbook paper and card, but they're just as useful for A4 paper, art prints, large photographs, die cut sheets and anything else flat. They're made from acid-free polypropylene for maximum protection against yellowing and degradation, so your paper stash stays in good condition for years.
Where is the Kallax insert pack made?
Every component in this pack is designed, manufactured and quality-checked at our factory in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey. S.B.Weston Ltd has been making precision injection moulded products in south west London since 1948. We started in a factory in Teddington, moved to Platts Eyot, a small island in the Thames, and moved into our own factory premises in Sunbury-on-Thames in 2002. When you buy a WestonBoxes product, it is genuinely made in Britain, not just branded here.
Are the Kallax inserts injection moulded or 3D printed?
The Kallax inserts are 3D printed in PETG. PETG is durable and holds up well to drops and knocks. It tolerates warm rooms without softening and resists moisture, oils and household chemicals. It's a solid all-rounder material for functional, everyday items.
