About WestonBoxes

WestonBoxes are a range of clear plastic storage boxes designed and manufactured in the UK by S.B.Weston Ltd. — a family-run British business now in its third generation.

Our History

S.B.Weston Ltd. was established in 1948 by Selwyn Buyers Weston, an engineer and entrepreneur who saw the potential in mass producing plastic components. He was the designer of the original hand-operated pump dispenser now found on soaps and moisturisers the world over. His son Tony Weston and fellow engineer David Dodman took over the company in the 1960s after Selwyn passed away. The company now thrives under the management of Tony's son Reid Weston and David's son Chris Dodman — keeping it firmly in family hands across three generations.

Having produced a wide range of plastic products for clients over the past seven decades, S.B.Weston Ltd. began manufacturing storage boxes of our own design in the 1990s. Around 2010 the WestonBoxes brand was introduced, and we have now sold over 100 million WestonBoxes worldwide.

All design, tooling and production takes place at our plant in Sunbury-on-Thames, UK, where we operate a range of injection moulding machines with a loyal team of skilled staff. Every WestonBox is made in Britain.

Can You Make Bespoke Boxes?

We're often asked whether we can produce boxes to custom dimensions. Here's the honest answer.

WestonBoxes are made by injection moulding — a process where molten plastic is injected into a precision mould to create the finished product. Before any boxes can be manufactured, a mould tool must be produced. A typical mould costs in the region of £10,000, so making a one-off bespoke box to specific dimensions isn't something we can offer as a standard service.

However, if you require a large volume of boxes and are prepared to invest in the tooling cost, then yes — we can design and manufacture a mould tool and produce your product at our Sunbury-on-Thames facility. Read more about our plastic injection moulding services at sbweston.com.
